This week's featured watch – the Patek Philippe Nautilus 3800 is one of our treasured timepieces. Patek Philippe watches are world renowned and well respected in every segment – but especially the watch community.
These timepieces are the Rolls Royce of luxury timepieces, and every
Patek we come across, from antique Patek Philippe pocket watches to more
modern preowned Patek Philippe watched always gets us excited.
This Patek Philippe Nautilus 3800/1 is no exception. Its beautiful Gerald Genta design pioneered – and set the bar for – the genre of luxury sport watches. Since 1976, it's been one of Patek Philippe's iconic watches.
The Nautilus' sleek 37mm 18kt gold case forms a superbly subtle octagon
accented by 18kt gold markers and an unobtrusive date window on a
pristine white dial. Every part of this sports watch smacks of Patek's refinement.
The seamless links of the bracelet keep the watch smooth and
comfortable on its wearer's wrist, in this case a 7″ wrist, and a
locking foldover clasp (engraved with Patek Philippe subtly on the
inside) keeps this secure.
This watch is actually one of the original Nautilus 3800 – not from the reissue era. Given its near pristine condition and the fact that it still has its box and papers, this Patek Phillipe is very rare.
